A formal diagnostic assessment investigates the cognitive processes that contribute to dyslexia. It assesses verbal and non-verbal ability, working memory, processing speed and phonological processing, as well as attainment in reading, spelling and writing.
The results of the assessment provide an explanation of each child's unique pattern of strengths and difficulties, plus recommendations for school and home. They can be used to indicate which access arrangements should be considered to support your child (where appropriate).
If the results of the assessment support a formal diagnosis of dyslexia, this will be clearly stated in your child's report.
